I speak French around the B2 level and I'm here on a year-long student visa. You're probably right. It's just, there are places like NYC that have parks big enough to feel a liiiiittle bit like you're not in a city anymore. I've heard I should try the big parks on the edge of Paris if I want that feeling -- Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne.
